Aggggh!! Run out of ideas for Christmas presents already? Fed up of hearing how Christmas is only half an hour away?

Well have no fear. Square Snaps is here with some fab ideas for presents that even grumpy grandad will love.

How about a Mini Snaps Christmas Advent Calendar as an early Christmas present – or just to keep for yourself as a gorgeous decoration? This is a great activity to do with the kids and the different personalised treats inside each envelope beat a chocolate calendar any day.

Photo Christmas Advent calendar

You will need:

25 Mini snaps (you can use our Polaroids or Standard Snaps as well)

25 envelopes – for Mini Snaps you can use coins envelopes.

25 clothes pegs

Some string to hang your envelopes



To decorate the  pegs and the envelopes: washi tape, ribbon, stickers, glitter, paint etc All easy to find on Amazon or your local arts and crafts shop.

First things first:

Print your  photos! Choose your favorite Instagram or desktop photos, upload them to our site and in a few days you’ll have your photos ready to use on your Christmas advent calendar. In this case we used Mini Snaps, but Standard Snaps and Polaroid style snaps look great if you have more space to display them.

 Clothes pegs

Make  your pegs pretty with washi tape, stickers or glitter. You could even paint them in Christmas reds and greens – kids love to join in with this part.

Decorate your envelopes

Stick your photo onto the front of your envelope and decorate it with washi tape, stickers, colorful ribbons and mini Christmas baubles.

Don’t forget to write a number on each envelope for each day of December!


Then stuff the envelopes with more mini snaps photos, candies, chocolate coins, Christmas messages, tiny toys – hang them onto your string and your Christmas advent calendar is ready and waiting for December 1st!
